The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is the biggest and most influential tech event in the world, and this year, beauty innovations took center stage. For the first time ever, a beauty company executive gave a keynote speech at the famed tech trade show, indicating that the future of tech is inextricably intertwined with the future of beauty."You may wonder why we are discussing beauty at CES," L’Oréal Chief Executive Nicolas Hieronimus said in his keynote address. "Why? Because at L’Oréal we believe that tech can push the boundaries of what's possible, help us improve the lives of consumers around the world, and cater to the infinite diversity of beauty needs and aspirations of every individual."Hieronimus unveiled several new innovations during his presentation, including an algorithm-driven personal beauty advisor and hair coloring device, the latter of which featured a surprise on-stage cameo from actress and L’Oréal spokeswoman Eva Longoria. Hieronimus also announced the news that L’Oréal had acquired Gjosa, a Swiss environmental water-tech start-up, and shared the belief that the combination of beauty and tech innovation can create a better world for people and the planet.CES is always full of amazing gadgets, and this year saw an uptick in beauty-driven innovations that range from at-home manicure robots and luxury storage systems to tattoo printers. Ahead, we’ve rounded up some of the best beauty tools and devices from CES 2024 that caught our attention and, we believe, could reshape the future of beauty.
